Ooh, i was actually thinking of when he traveled even further into the future (30 million years). I had to look up the plot again since it’s been so long since i read this haha

I occasionally recall the imagery i had in my head when i read this as a teen of the extremely far future that the protagonist travels to. I suppose whenever i think of what the future of the world might look like. Just a random thought. Thanks for reminding me of this book :)

I’ll also add: i think i didn’t quite appreciate at the time how wells described the protag’s experience of time travel–i took it for granted. But your comparison to timelapse videos where the book was written in 1895 puts it into perspective for me
