A person who cared about their contribution to climate change to the point it was a genuine priority and affected their decisions would move. A person who didn’t would find ways to rationalize staying without much difficulty.
My gender is my concern, but you may use any pronoun to refer to me

Even if everyone reading this article went vegan immediately, it would do less than if they went out to protest and told all their friends about it too.
I would disagree. Or at least, it’s not obvious or established. Protest and heart-to-hearts don’t move the needle very much at all. Our individual economic and cultural contributions simply by living as vegans are powerful, not even considering the huge number of individuals each of us directly protect from atrocity with our individual actions.
I suppose I should elaborate. Comparing a cow to a mushroom in the context of animal liberation and wondering if they are morally equivalent is like comparing a human slave to a mushroom in the context of human liberation. So, please, fuck off.
Oh, fuck off.
well 95% less
murder is just so tiresome, but I suppose you find a way to manage
The virus makes egg farming less profitable, potentially entirely unprofitable. That could represent billions or trillions of individuals never born into exploitation and atrocity.
In much the same way that McDonald’s is better than a mud pie.

Transphobes do not have psychological phobias. You’re being overly literal.
There’s a strong argument that we shouldn’t be using psychological terms in this way, in the same way that we shouldn’t casually describe things as “schizophrenic” or “autistic”, but there is no ambiguity about what is meant.
It’s easier to just get new friends.
Because it’s not an issue. This is the system functioning as intended. Changing this behaviour would cause dramatic performance degradation for the 99.999% of the time when the device you are writing to isn’t removable media that you want to eject right away.
I’m into universal sterilization.
what a cowardly thing to say. you could have just walked away, but your fragile ego wasn’t done humiliating you.
A river floods every year. If someone builds a house next to it and the river takes it, is the river evil, or is the person suffering the consequences of their own ignorance? The consequences of capitalism are predictable and inevitable. The behaviour of a dollar is almost as predictable as that of an electron. Why do people pretend like we don’t know what is going to happen?
Even if this were true, it does not address the moral argument that is at the root of this discussion. It’s a way that you distract yourself from the moral component of your choices. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not, it doesn’t even matter if you believe it or not. It just has to distract you long enough that you get past the point where you might accidentally engage your empathy, and have a feeling you don’t want to have.
Where are you getting your information?
The majority of all the plants that humans grow are fed to livestock. That’s just the fact of the matter. It’s not conserving anything, rather it’s incredibly wasteful. Human food crops could have been grown instead, on a fraction of the land.
And again, you don’t really give a shit. It wouldn’t change your behaviour to discover you are mistaken, it’s a disingenuous argument. It’s sophistry.
It’s a question of priorities. We all ‘care’ about the environment. But frankly, most people care a lot more about other things, and simply find ways to manage their climate anxiety rather than address the climate issue. OP’s behavior isn’t the way it is because they don’t care about the environment or because they have no other options, but because they have other priorities.
